Jakarta (Rifyu.com) – The General Elections Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia said that a total of 117 prospective candidates had registered until the fifth day of registration of candidates for DPD RI members, Friday (5/5).
“Recapitulation of acceptance of registration for DPD member candidates, until Friday (5/5) at 16.00 WIB, data was taken from the Silon DPD application, total registrations were received from 117 potential candidates,” said KPU RI member Idham Holik to reporters in Jakarta, Saturday.
Idham then detailed that the 117 candidates for DPD members consisted of 6 people who registered at the Aceh Provincial Election Independent Committee (KIP) Office, 4 people at the Banten Province KPU, 4 people at the Bengkulu Province KPU, 2 people at the Gorontalo Provincial KPU, 4 people in West Kalimantan Provincial KPU, 3 people at the South Kalimantan Provincial KPU, and 2 people at the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial KPU.
Next, 5 prospective candidates registered at the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial KPU (NTB), 7 people at the Riau Provincial KPU, 3 people at the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial KPU, 6 people at the North Sumatra Provincial KPU, 8 people at the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU, 5 people at the East Kalimantan Provincial KPU, 3 people at the Riau Islands Provincial KPU, and 5 people at the Lampung Province KPU.
There are also 4 prospective candidates registered at the NTT Provincial KPU, 3 people at the Central Sulawesi Provincial KPU, 1 person at the North Sulawesi Provincial KPU, 1 person at the DI Yogyakarta Provincial KPU, 5 people at the Jambi Province KPU, 8 people at the West Java Provincial KPU, 3 people at the KPU Central Kalimantan Province, 2 people at the KPU North Kalimantan Province, 1 person at the KPU North Maluku Province, 2 people at the KPU South Sulawesi Province, and 4 people at the KPU South Sumatra Province.
Meanwhile, 1 other candidate registered at the Bali Provincial KPU, 1 person at the Central Java Provincial KPU, 3 people at the Maluku Province KPU, 2 people at the Southwest Papua Provincial KPU, 2 people at the Papua Mountains Province KPU, 1 person at the KPU East Java Province, 1 person at the KPU West Papua Province, 1 person at the KPU South Papua Province, 1 person at the KPU West Sulawesi Province, and 3 people at the KPU West Sumatra Province.
Previously, data recap until the fourth day of registration for DPD RI candidate members, Thursday (4/5), showed that there were a total of 59 prospective candidates who had registered.
Idham estimates that the number of prospective candidates who have registered will continue to grow because there are a total of 700 prospective candidates who meet the support requirements that have been submitted to the respective provincial KPU.
The KPU has announced that the acceptance of the registration of candidates for DPD RI will be carried out simultaneously with the registration of prospective members for the DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency/Municipal DPRD for the 2024 Election on 1-14 May 2023.
