Jakarta (Rifyu.com) – The Central Management of the Indonesian Kempo Federation (PP FKI) will carry out kempo training in stages by involving the junior age level in international championships.
This was conveyed by Senior Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Kempo Federation (FKI) as well as Chief de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Contingent Thomas Timbul Lubis when present to welcome the contingents upon arrival at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tuesday.
“KiI don’t want to make gradual construction. In Asia we make it first. Later we will all participate in the championship,” said Thomas Timbul Lubis to reporters, Tuesday.
The Indonesian kempo contingent succeeded in making the name Merah Putih on the world stage after winning five gold, ten silver and 16 bronze in The 2023 Kempo World Championship or The 19th IKF World Kempo Championship 2023 Caldas de Rainha, Portugal.
With this achievement, Indonesia is certain to be the second winner in the traditional kempo category and is in fourth place for the general or the overall competition.

“We hope that with gradual coaching later in 2024 we can take part in the 20th world championship in Antalya, Turkey,” added Thomas Timbul Lubis.
He also added that Indonesia would be able to become the overall champion in the 2023 kempo championship if it increased the number of contingents. He compared with the Spanish overall champion who sent 79 athletes while Indonesia sent 21 athletes.
Currently the PP FKI statute in the International Kempo Federation (IKF) has become a member. With that status, PP FKI has now also adjusted the standards set by the IKF to have 24 kempo styles being contested.
