Jakarta (Rifyu.com) – Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Soekarnoputri said that the Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP) had completed compiling the list of legislative candidates for the 2024 election.
“In our broad outline, from levels 1 and 2, districts, cities and provinces, and the Indonesian Parliament it can be said that it has been completed,” said Megawati in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.
Nevertheless, Megawati stated that in the near future she would chair one or two more finalization meetings.
After that, the daughter of Indonesian Proclaimer Bung Karno said that PDIP would register party candidates with the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) according to the specified time frame.
“I noticed that there were no crucial matters, yes, (regarding the registration of candidates),” said Megawati.

Previously, the General Elections Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia reminded all political parties at the national level that are participating in the 2024 Election so that they try not to register their prospective DPR members on the last day of registration, Sunday (14/5).
“We have warned, try not to submit the list of prospective candidates for DPR members on the last day so that if there is an administration that is incomplete, there is still time to complete it,” said KPU RI member Idham Holik to reporters at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Friday (5 /5).
Until the fifth day of registration, he said the KPU RI had not received a single registration for candidates for DPR members. The KPU RI has also not received an official notification letter from the political party leaders regarding their plans to come to the KPU RI Office to register their party’s candidate for DPR members.
As is known, the Indonesian KPU has opened registration for prospective legislative members (bacaleg) for the DPR RI for the 2024 election starting Monday (1/5).

Registration for legislative candidates starts May 1-14 2023. For May 1-13, registration hours of operation are from 08.00-16.00 local time.
Meanwhile, on May 14, the operational hours of registration will start at 08.00-23.59 local time.
