Jakarta (Rifyu.com) – PDI Perjuangan presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo consolidated the 2024 general election victory with the North Sulawesi DPW PPP in Manado, Thursday.

“This is our second visit to the North Sulawesi DPW PPP Office after yesterday in West Java,” he said in a written statement in Jakarta.

The visit was after Plt. PPP chairman Muhammad Mardiono hands over the results of his party’s national meetings, which officially nominated Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate to PDI Perjuangan Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri at the PDI Perjuangan office, Jakarta, Sunday (30/4).

Ganjar’s visit was welcomed by the Head of the North Sulawesi DPW PPP Depri Pontoh. The governor of Central Java said that the deputy governor accompanying him at this time was Gus Yasin, also a PPP cadre.

“PPP is no stranger to me,” he said.

In addition, his wife Siti Atikoh is a descendant of KH Hisyam A. Karim, a Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and PPP figure in Central Java.

Ganjar also appreciated the inter-party harmony in North Sulawesi. PPP as an Islamic party has good relations in North Sulawesi with the majority of Christians.

“If you then want to build a very strong foundation of unity, that is exemplified in North Sulawesi,” said Ganjar emphasized.

Ganjar hopes that the relationship that has existed so far between PDI Perjuangan and PPP can smooth the victory in the 2024 elections, both the election for members of the legislature and the presidential election.

In accordance with the 2024 election schedule, the registration of the presidential/vice presidential candidate pair will start from 19 October to 25 November 2023.

Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Election), the presidential/vice presidential candidate pair is proposed by a political party or coalition of political parties participating in the election that meets the requirements of obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the votes. valid nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently there are 575 seats in parliament so the presidential/vice presidential candidate pair in the 2024 Presidential Election must have the support of at least 115 seats in the Indonesian Parliament. Candidate pairs can also be carried by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a minimum total of 34,992,703 valid votes.
