Newcastle United crushed Tottenham Hotspur 6-1 –

Jakarta ( – Newcastle United destroyed Tottenham Hotspur with a landslide score of 6-1 in Week 32 of the Premier League at St. James Park, Newcastle, Sunday local time.

In that match, Newcastle’s big win came thanks to goals scored by Jacob Murphy (2), Joelinton, Alexander Isak (2) and Callum Wilson, while Tottenham were only able to reply through Harry Kane.

The win again led Newcastle to third place in the Premier League standings with 59 points from 31 matches, overtaking Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur again failed to score a win and are now still stuck in fifth place with a score of 53 points from 32 matches, six points adrift of the top four, according to the records of the Premier League’s official website.

Newcastle slightly superior in possession with 57 percent, but dominant in matters of releasing kicks with 25 attempts, eight of which were on target.

When the game had only been running for two minutes, the home team was able to excel through a goal scored by Jacob Murphy who took advantage of the rebound from Joelinton’s kick so that the score changed to 1-0.

Four minutes later, Newcastle were able to double their lead after Joelinton scored a goal from Tottenham after receiving Fabian Schar’s long pass.

The Magpies scored again from Tottenham Hotspur after Murphy recorded his second goal of the game in the 9th minute, taking advantage of a pass from Schar to make it 3-0.

Behind three goals, Tottenham tried to get up and had a chance through Harry Kane’s kick, but the England national team captain’s effort was still sideways from the Newcastle goal.

In the 19th minute Newcastle scored their fourth goal, this time scored by Alexander Isak who took advantage of Joe Willock’s through ball.

Just two minutes later, Isak was able to score his second goal of the match after maximizing the bait sent by Sean Longstaff so that the score changed to 5-0.

Able to lead five goals in 21 minutes, Newcastle did not relax their attacks and had threatened several times, but until the first half ended the score was 5-0 for the hosts’ advantage to persist.

In the second half, Tottenham Hotspur reduced the arrears in the 49th minute when Harry Kane found the net against Newcastle, taking advantage of a Pierre-Emile Hojberg cross.

Conceded by a quick goal in the second half, Newcastle did not remain silent and managed to increase their advantage to 6-1 in the 67th minute.

Starting from Miguel Almiron’s efforts in the Tottenham penalty box, a wild ball was struck by Callum Wilson’s hard kick which broke into Fraser Forster’s goal.

In the remaining time of the second half, Newcastle remained dominant in providing threats to the Tottenham defense, which in the end had to submit with a five-goal deficit until the long whistle sounded.

Furthermore, Tottenham Hotspur will play a tough match against Manchester United in Week 33 of the Premier League, Thursday (27/4) local time, while Newcastle United will travel to Everton headquarters, on the same day.
