Jakarta (Rifyu.com) – The film “John Wick: Chapter 4” is expected to collect US$65-70 million or around Rp992 billion to Rp1 trillion from 3,800 North American theaters during its debut weekend, citing a Variety report published Wednesday (22/3) local time.
The film, which stars Keanu Reeves, also debuts over the weekend in 71 territories in box office outside North America. Ticket sales at the weekend are expected to exceed US$100-115 million (Rp1.52-1.75 trillion) from box office globaly.
If those estimates are met, then the North American debut will earn more than any of the previous films in the franchise. His first film debut which was released in 2014 grossed 14 million US dollars (Rp. 213.6 billion), “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017) with 30.4 million US dollars (Rp. 463.9 billion), and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019) with 56.8 million US dollars (Rp. 866.9 billion).

The fourth film “John Wick” is said to have received the best reviews after premiering in several places, including screenings at SXSW last week and in Los Angeles, USA, on Monday (20/3).
The production cost of “John Wick: Chapter 4” was recorded at more than 100 million US dollars (Rp. 1.52 trillion). To date, the third “John Wick” film is the highest-grossing installment in the franchise with $328.3 million globally.
Through “John Wick: Chapter 4”, Chad Stahelski returns to serve as director. In the fourth film, Reeves as John Wick sets out to defeat and avenge the criminal organization The High Table.
