Jakarta (Rifyu.com) – The Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi stated that there were two stages related to the reconstruction of the Bogor-Sukabumi railroad (KA) which was affected by the landslide in South Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java, last Tuesday (14/3).
The Minister of Transportation in a statement received in Jakarta, Friday said that in the first stage the installation will be carried out pileswhich can only be started after the evacuation process is complete, where currently there are still two victims who are still buried in the landslide.
“The second stage, we hope we can design the reconstruction. However, because this is a landslide with a very high steepness, it will take us approximately 3 months to carry out recovery or overall reconstruction,” said the Minister of Transportation.
“Therefore, I convey to the Director General of Railways that it is carried out in detail by prioritizing safety and in collaboration with KAI, local government, the community and related parties so that this can be done quickly,” continued the Minister of Transportation.
The Minister of Transportation on Friday inspected the Bogor-Sukabumi cross-railway which was affected by the landslide. In his review, he checked the efforts to repair and restore the rails being carried out by the joint team in the field.
He revealed that repairs had begun on the downstream rail line which was not affected by the landslide and limited operational trials had been carried out starting Thursday (16/3).
Meanwhile, for the upstream route which was affected by the landslide with the condition of the rail hanging 25 meters long, efforts to repair it are still being carried out by a joint team from the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation and PT KAI (Persero).
“We have started operating on the new route. However, I suggest that we do it carefully, reduce the speed, if necessary, the passengers are also not maximized,” said the Minister of Transportation.
Meanwhile, to speed up the process of evacuating victims, the Ministry of Transportation also provided support by providing heavy equipment.
“We hope that the victims who are still buried can be found soon. First, of course, because their families have been waiting. Second, we are trying to repair the rail area affected by the landslide as soon as possible,” he said.
The Minister of Transportation also reminded that there should be no more dwellings in the black area around steep ground because it will put a certain pressure on the ground which has the potential to slide and endanger the occupants of the house.
Apart from that, the Minister of Transportation also asked the ranks of the Ministry of Transportation through the DJKA and PT KAI to pay attention to and provide assistance to the survivors both in hospitals and in evacuation.
Previously, based on information from PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, on Thursday (16/3), out of a total of six train trips, only the first one train was canceled in order to conduct a trial crossing without passengers. Meanwhile, starting this Friday, none of the Pangrango train trips have been cancelled.
