Good Doctor Technology Indonesia Wins Award for Contribution in Handling the Covid-19 Pandemic – Three years ago, March 2 2020 to be precise, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo officially announced the first case of COVID-19 in Indonesia. At that time, the whole world did not know how to deal with this pandemic, including Indonesia. Everything is completely uncertain.
The government invites all components of the nation to work together to control the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the synergy of all components of the nation, Indonesia has managed to deal with this pandemic. Therefore, the Government gives awards to those who have worked hard and contributed positively in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Award for handling COVID -19 or Imposing Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) This award is given to vaccination centers, telemedicine, whole genome sequencing (WGS) laboratories, media, influencers, religious organizations, academics, friendly countries, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), international organizations, foreign private companies, domestic private companies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
“This success is the hard work of all components of the nation. I hope that this hard work will continue to address other major issues. We must continue to move synergistically to mobilize all components of the nation.”
“The handling of the COVID-19 pandemic shows our extraordinary strength as a big nation. If we work like the handling of COVID, we will be able to solve other problems quickly,” said the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.
Indonesia’s success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has gained international recognition. The President stated that in June 2022 WHO Director General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia is among the best and the vaccination coverage is also among the best. In addition, Johns Hopkins University in September 2021 stated that Indonesia is one of the best countries in the world in reducing COVID-19 cases.
“To ladies and gentlemen who received the PPKM Award, I congratulate you. Let us continue this service to solve various humanitarian and national problems, and build Indonesia into a developed country,” the President added.
“We are honored to receive an award from the Government of Indonesia for our contribution in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. This award does not make us complacent, but we will continue to increase access to quality health services with our digital technology for all people in Indonesia. Thus, we are getting closer to achieving our vision, “One Doctor for Every Family in Indonesia,” said Managing Director of PT Good Doctor Technology Indonesia, Danu Wicaksana.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Good Doctor has made various comprehensive efforts to support the Government in controlling this pandemic. Starting from providing special health education regarding COVID-19, swab test services, COVID-19 clinics, and the COVID-19 vaccine in partnership with various stakeholders to launch vaccination centers in various regions in Indonesia.
At each of the vaccination centers, Good Doctor applies methods that are proven to reduce crowds and minimize cancellations at the location or delays through the use of the registration feature for vaccination participants and the pre-screening feature which can be accessed through the Good Doctor application and GrabHealth powered by Good Doctor. As we know that crowds can be a risk factor for the spread of COVID-19.
Until July 4, 2021 Good Doctor was officially appointed by the Government (Ministry of Health) under the auspices of the Indonesian Telemedicine Alliance (ATENSI) to provide free teleconsultation and independent isolation (Isoman) services to all Indonesian people infected with COVID-19. Even though at that time, Good Doctor was still a new player in telemedicine. More than 70,000 people have experienced the benefits of teleconsultation with Good Doctor and this program is still ongoing today.
In addition, Good Doctor presents complete and accurate COVID-19 guidance information that always follows Government and Ministry of Health policy updates. The birth of the guide was based on experience in providing teleconsultation and isoman to COVID-19 patients that society at the time of isoman needed guidance because the patient became his own doctor.
The PPKM Award won by Good Doctor proves that at a young age, only 3 years old, Good Doctor has shown optimal performance and hard work so that he is able to contribute to this nation in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. A pandemic that at the time it appeared, all countries in any part of the world still had to learn to control it. Apart from Good Doctor, other telemedicine that received this award are Alodokter and Halodoc.
