Jakarta (ANTARA) – Become underdogs In a group previously expected to be dominated by Belgium, ranked second in the world, Belgium and Croatia, who were runners up in the 2018 World Cup, Morocco surprisingly won Group F in the 2022 World Cup.

Morocco advanced to the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time in 36 years after winning 2-1 over Canada in the final match of Group F of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, this Thursday evening.

Hakim Ziyech and Youssef En-Nesyri ensured the North African side finished top of the group with both of their goals. One goal for Canada was scored by Nayef Aguerd.

It was Morocco’s second win in the group after also beating Belgium in the second match. They are an unbeaten team in group F. Another result is a draw against Croatia.

In other matches, Belgium drew 0-0 against Croatia so they could only finish third with 4 points.

Belgium only scored one goal during this tournament which was even less productive than fourth-ranked Canada, but Canada’s goal was conceded seven times. Canada also lost all of their three group stage matches.
